About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Play a key role in asset finance, commercial and contract-related matters in Spain
  • Support and lead specified legal matters for the Spanish team
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including electric vehicle manufacturers and operators
  • Manage general commercial legal aspects of the business in Spain
  • Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts, including LOIs, master rental agreements, vehicle purchase agreements, maintenance agreements, EV charger supply and warranty agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, and service agreements
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on corporate governance, regulatory matters and data protection issues
  • Provide day-to-day advice on key risks and legal issues
  • Work with Spanish external legal counsel
  • Contribute to health, safety, wellbeing and sustainability practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–10 years PQE, having trained and qualified at a good regional, national or international law firm
  • Spanish law or English law qualified and experience working in Spain
  • Spanish speaker at first-language or fluent-second-language level, written and spoken
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Experienced contract negotiator with commercial awareness
  • Commercial experience essential
  • Asset finance experience advantageous
  • In-house experience ideally
  • Excellent legal drafting skills
  • Sound commercial judgment and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Ability to establish trust-based relationships across teams in the UK and Spain
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with significant responsibility and ownership
  • Excellent organisational skills; able to multitask, meet deadlines and manage competing demands
  • Strong attention to detail and consistently high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Located in Spain preferred but not essential, or located in London and able to work in Madrid at least one week a month
  • Understanding of the energy regulatory environment and energy-sector experience advantageous
