About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support origination and development of transmission and distribution-level large-scale energy storage projects in GB, the US and other markets
- Evaluate investment opportunities and perform financial modelling
- Develop commercial propositions and manage relationships to secure contracts
- Lead or support mergers and acquisitions and project acquisitions
- Analyse energy-market fundamentals, consultant revenue forecasts and methodologies
- Assess the impact of regulatory and policy changes on storage assets
- Develop propositions and competitive bids in international storage markets
- Prepare high-quality internal Investment Committee papers
- Support corporate finance in raising debt for project portfolios
- Monitor commercial, regulatory and policy developments
- Support business-case development through deal closure
- Contribute to strategy development
- Liaise with international teams on project business cases and deal closure
- Develop sales and marketing materials and attend or speak at conferences
- Develop strategic partnerships to scale the business
- Line-manage an associate
- Promote health, safety, wellbeing and sustainability in daily work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree, preferably in engineering, economics or finance
- 5–10 years of solid experience in commercial/international business development in the energy sector
- Experience preferably in energy storage or renewables
- M&A experience, ideally in energy storage or renewables
- Strong financial modelling experience
- Strong energy-market fundamentals skills and experience providing or analysing revenue forecasts
- Strong commercial skills, including legal contracts, proposal drafting and project financing
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisation, teamwork and attention to detail
- Knowledge of the US, Europe and Australia energy landscape highly beneficial
- Ability to work in the London headquarters on a hybrid basis and travel internationally
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, high-pressure, entrepreneurial environment
- Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Passion for clean energy and Zenobē’s social and environmental mission
