About the role

  • You plan, host and produce the news podcast “Was jetzt?”.
  • You provide editorial support for colleagues’ episodes.
  • This includes writing and editing conversation scripts/transcripts.
  • You give feedback on podcast episodes and other formats within the ZEIT universe and are eager to help develop them further.
  • You regularly work outside normal hours and on several weekend days per month.

Requirements

  • A completed university degree and excellent journalistic training provide the solid foundation for your work.
  • You have experience as a radio journalist and/or podcaster, preferably in news and/or political reporting.
  • You have a strong command of writing for the spoken word.
  • You are passionate about news journalism and enjoy selecting the day’s topics.
  • Ideally, your editorial focus is on German domestic politics.
  • You have good knowledge of audio production, especially audio editing.
  • You are highly organized, communicative and committed, and enjoy working in a team.
