About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage on-site and remote trainings within a given territory
- Contact customers independently, schedule appointments, make travel arrangements, and address customer inquiries
- Coordinate on-site trainings of border customers with CAS in adjacent territories
- Support assembly of Carl Zeiss instruments and peripheral devices
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting
- Train technicians and doctors on instrument operation
- Communicate basic equipment maintenance procedures
- Serve as the customer’s liaison to Carl Zeiss on administrative and technical/clinical issues
- Communicate with Regional Sales Managers and Field Service Engineers regarding customer satisfaction and training issues
- Develop working relationships with Sales and Field Service teams to enhance customer care
- Learn to identify and communicate sales leads
- Prepare and submit complete, accurate, and timely documentation, including expense reports and Product Training Checklists
- Maintain and continually update knowledge of appropriate Carl Zeiss products
- Set up and instruct users on Carl Zeiss equipment at conventions and seminars
- Maintain and adhere to applicable GMP and ISO 9001 processes and procedures
- Report to the CAS Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least three to five (3-5) years of experience in an ophthalmology clinic setting, diagnostic ophthalmology industry, or comparable experience
- Knowledge of visual fields, lensometry, refractometry, biometry, and/or fundus photography
- Knowledge of laser scanning technology is helpful but not mandatory
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with customers in challenging situations
- Ability to follow standard practices and procedures when analyzing data or situations
- Basic computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Ability to travel overnight and work occasional weekends
- Well organized and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Extensive travel by automobile and air, including some overnight travel
- Ability to perform frequent bending and kneeling
- Average of four hours driving per day and two customer visits per day
- Professional business protocol and appearance
- Adherence to GMP and ISO 9001 processes and procedures
- Compliance with state and federal employment law
