About the role

  • Ensuring the strategic development of innovative and needs-oriented working conditions.
  • Providing solution-oriented, holistic advice on complex co-determination and employee representation matters to the business, the HR community and at the interface with works councils and trade unions.
  • Strategically analysing HR trends and future topics with regard to co-determination, and steering and implementing these initiatives for ZEISS in Germany.
  • Advising segment and SBU leadership as well as HR interfaces on complex collective employment-law issues.
  • Drafting and negotiating (group-wide) works agreements and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Standardising and providing templates/framework agreements for concluding collective-law arrangements at local sites.
  • Supporting and leading the Germany-wide Community of Practice Labour Relations.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in law or business administration with a focus on employment law or human resources management.
  • 5+ years of experience as an in-house expert on co-determination and policy matters in the HR function of an international corporation, in a trade union, or in an employers' association.
  • Proven, extensive knowledge of individual and collective employment law, familiarity with working alongside employee representative bodies, and strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, preferably those applicable to the metal and electrical industries.
  • Strong conceptual abilities, analytical thinking, and a pronounced understanding of economic contexts and commercial thinking.
  • Decisiveness, strong implementation skills, and problem-solving competence.
  • Ability to explain complex matters in an audience-appropriate manner, outstanding stakeholder management, and project management experience.
  • Strong team, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Good command of English and confident use of MS Office.
