About the role
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Assist with preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Develop internal financial reports for program and administrative leadership
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (grants and housing)
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to financial policies and procedures
- Lead annual budgeting process across administrative departments
- Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts using Vena
- Conduct financial forecasting and scenario analysis
- Partner with program leaders to monitor budget vs. actual performance
- Create automated reports and dashboards for leadership
- Oversee Grant Compliance team to ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and reporting requirements
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and budgeting experience
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Experience with budgeting systems (e.g., Vena) and accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Paylocity)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial audiences
