About the role

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Assist with preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
  • Develop internal financial reports for program and administrative leadership
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (grants and housing)
  • Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to financial policies and procedures
  • Lead annual budgeting process across administrative departments
  • Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts using Vena
  • Conduct financial forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Partner with program leaders to monitor budget vs. actual performance
  • Create automated reports and dashboards for leadership
  • Oversee Grant Compliance team to ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and reporting requirements
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven team environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and budgeting experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Experience with budgeting systems (e.g., Vena) and accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Paylocity)
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial audiences
