About the role
- provide strong financial stewardship across the organization
- work closely with the Executive, Legislature, and Finance Committee
- provide financial leadership, advice, and oversight
- support transparent governance, informed decision-making, and long-term financial sustainability
- lead and manage the Finance Department
- strengthen core financial systems, controls, and internal capacity
- support effective budgeting and financial management
- oversee financial reporting, audit coordination, treasury and cash flow management
- prepare and present clear, accurate financial reports and analysis
- oversee relationships with external auditors, advisors, and consultants
Requirements
- bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- 6 to 8 years of directly related financial management experience
- at least 2 to 3 years in a senior financial leadership role
- corporate and auditing experience
- experience developing financial policy
- strong knowledge of GAAP and ideally PSAB
- experience working within regulated environments and professional standards
- ability to operate effectively in complex governance contexts
- strong relationship-building skills and professional credibility
- cultural humility
- experience working with Indigenous governments or communities is valued
