Key responsibilities & impact

provide strong financial stewardship across the organization
work closely with the Executive, Legislature, and Finance Committee
provide financial leadership, advice, and oversight
support transparent governance, informed decision-making, and long-term financial sustainability
lead and manage the Finance Department
strengthen core financial systems, controls, and internal capacity
support effective budgeting and financial management
oversee financial reporting, audit coordination, treasury and cash flow management
prepare and present clear, accurate financial reports and analysis
oversee relationships with external auditors, advisors, and consultants

Requirements

What you’ll need

bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline
Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
6 to 8 years of directly related financial management experience
at least 2 to 3 years in a senior financial leadership role
corporate and auditing experience
experience developing financial policy
strong knowledge of GAAP and ideally PSAB
experience working within regulated environments and professional standards
ability to operate effectively in complex governance contexts
strong relationship-building skills and professional credibility
cultural humility
experience working with Indigenous governments or communities is valued
