Job Level

About the role

  • Lead experience strategy and design execution for the Menu platform across multiple initiatives and workstreams, from discovery through delivery
  • Independently frame complex, ambiguous problems involving data models, workflows, permissions, and global operational constraints
  • Design scalable, system-aware solutions that balance usability, flexibility, and technical feasibility across brands and regions
  • Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations to align on priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery plans
  • Translate business and operational goals into coherent experience direction without over-indexing on feature-level design
  • Design scalable, high-fidelity design for real-time, workflow-driven and data rich systems
  • Own end-to-end design across multiple Menu views and states, including station workflows, error states, and edge cases.
  • Create interaction models, patterns, and frameworks that support consistency across the experience.
  • Deliver production-ready designs, specs, and prototypes that engineers can implement with confidence.
  • Act as the primary design partner for Menu between Product and Engineering leads.
  • Facilitate design critiques, working sessions, and reviews to align across disciplines.
  • Communicate tradeoffs clearly, balancing usability, technical feasibility, and delivery constraints.
  • Ensure design intent and quality are preserved through implementation.
  • Design for environments where accuracy, legibility, and error recovery are critical.
  • Incorporate accessibility and usability best practices appropriate for shared, on-premise systems.
  • Anticipate failure modes and “unhappy paths,” ensuring the system remains usable under stress or degraded conditions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or interaction design.
  • Proven experience designing complex systems or enterprise-grade products, not just isolated features.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, workflow design, and end-to-end ownership.
  • Experience designing for multi-role or operational environments
  • High bar for interaction design, information hierarchy, and usability.
  • Comfortable designing detailed flows, states, and edge cases for real-world use.
  • Strong proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and design documentation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner deeply with Product and Engineering.
  • Clear communicator who can explain design rationale and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy and limited supervision within a defined product area.
