About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop a yearly personal growth plan and lead teams and individuals in spiritual development
- Partner with the Regional Director and Committee to cast vision for reaching every kid in the defined area
- Develop gatherings with committee, leaders and staff to build unity and provide vision and direction
- Recruit, train, supervise, develop and evaluate staff and volunteer leaders
- Provide quality summer staff, work crew and adult guests for summer camps
- Lead the TDS team and committee in finding partners to own the area vision and budget
- Develop and lead the area fundraising strategy and communicate with donors
- Raise funds to carry out the local ministry vision and maintain a cash reserve
- Build the Young Life brand through public relations
- Coordinate and conduct quality events
- Engage in contact work, club, Campaigners and camp
- Lead or co-lead a model Young Life club and supervise an effective Campaigner ministry
- Observe and evaluate schools and ministries in the local area annually
- Develop plans to maximize Gospel proclamation through camping opportunities
- Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life property, camp or other position each summer
- Manage finances, area records, communications and strategic ministry planning
- Perform other duties as assigned and accept short- and long-term project assignments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires 1+ year of related ministry experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams
- Proven leadership skills
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults
- A call to reach kids with the Gospel
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must complete Core Training - Phase One within 36 months of hire date
- College degree preferred
- Must be able to handle camp conditions including heat, cold, dirt, long hours, hiking, horseback riding and boating
- Must subscribe to Young Life’s Statement of Faith and profess belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord
