Human Resources Manager
Young Basile Hanlon & MacFarlane, P.C.HR Manager at Young Basile supporting over 50 attorneys and 30 staff members in a flexible, remote position. Leading HR initiatives while ensuring compliance and improving employee experience.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a trusted thought partner to firm leadership on employee matters and organizational needs
- Own and optimize the firm’s HRIS platform (Rippling)
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data, compensation, and reporting
- Partner with finance/operations on payroll coordination and reporting
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations issues, including sensitive and confidential matters
- Coach partners and managers on communication, feedback, and performance management
- Own recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes for staff
- Partner with leadership on performance management and feedback cycles
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and legal industry employment regulations
- Maintain single reliable and up-to-date resource for all HR related matters
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7–10+ years of HR experience, including operating at a manager or senior level
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred
- Strong experience with HRIS systems (administration, reporting, optimization)
- Demonstrated expertise in employee relations and conflict resolution
- Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance
- Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight in a partner-led environment
- High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience specifically with Rippling HRIS implementation and management (Rippling University Certification preferred)
- Familiarity with intellectual property or technology-focused organizations
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
