About the role
- Complete assigned general accounting tasks in the production and delivery of timely and accurate GAAP financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for assigned YMCA clients
- Prepare, code and record entries and transactions in the production of financial statements and reports
- Review trial balance for accuracy and reasonableness and reconcile/analyze all assigned general ledger accounts
- Collect and/or prepare appropriate supporting documents for all accounting entries and activity
- Provide audit support specific to general accounting as assigned
- Prepare government and grant reports, support, and invoices as assigned
- Maintain files, work papers, and reconciliations for assigned client YMCA in a manner consistent with current YESS Finance/Accounting standards, making those documents available for association review
- Respond to information requests as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience
- Understanding of the end-to-end Record to Report process
- Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Flexible to new ideas and ways of accomplishing tasks
- Functional knowledge of the general accounting process
- Highly organized
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
