About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently draft and negotiate enterprise-level business development and commercial contracts
Architect and negotiate novel AI licensing agreements
Apply deep commercial expertise to align legal solutions with Yelp’s broader business goals
Advance company objectives by actively balancing speed with risk

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctor degree and state bar membership in good standing
8+ years of experience as an attorney (In-house counsel experience is a big plus)
Extensive knowledge of SaaS contract law, IP law, and a comprehensive understanding of privacy and regulatory frameworks including TCPA, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, CIPA, HIPAA, and PCI
A solid, practical understanding of network architecture, APIs, MCP servers, data feeds, apps, databases, clients, firewalls, and data wiping protocols
Proven track record of actively negotiating complex agreements
Strong work ethic, with a team player mentality
The ability to expertly balance speed with risk
High-level accountability with a genuine passion for the field
