About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Encode FinOps patterns, judgment, and rules into autonomous agents
Own customer outcomes by working with Platform and Cloud teams to identify and prove savings in production
Define guardrails and policies for safe autonomous remediation in production
Shift cost visibility left by detecting expensive infrastructure decisions in pull requests rather than invoices
Integrate Terraform, Bicep, and CloudFormation knowledge into the agent system
Encode optimization patterns from customer engagements into the multi-agent system for reuse across future customers
Automate cloud cost optimization work with code
Run working sessions with customer Platform leaders, identify savings in live consoles, and create runbooks

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud cost optimization
Demonstrated personal reduction of six- or seven-figure cloud spend
Hands-on experience with cloud consoles and infrastructure-as-code repositories
Ability to write automation code, including Python or Bash
Strong Terraform knowledge; Bicep or CloudFormation experience ideally
Ability to communicate technically with engineering stakeholders
Ability to run working sessions with Heads of Platform, identify savings live, and write runbooks
Bias for action and ability to ship quickly
Daily use of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, and agents
Background at AWS, GCP, Azure, or a high-growth infrastructure/DevOps tooling company is a bonus
Experience owning FinOps metrics in a mid-market or enterprise company is a bonus
Open-source contributions in cloud, IaC, or FinOps are a bonus
FinOps certification is nice to have
Experience as an early engineer at a startup is a bonus
