About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Optimising daily plant performance
- Maximising production, efficiency and uptime
- Ensuring compliance with process safety, occupational health and safety, and environmental requirements
- Monitoring plant performance and troubleshooting process issues
- Working closely with Operations, Maintenance and other departments
- Supporting continuous improvement, project delivery, graduate development and production reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree (Honours or higher) in Chemical or Process Engineering
- 5–10 years’ experience in the chemical or petrochemical industry, ideally within Nitric Acid or Ammonium Nitrate processing plants
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise plant performance
- Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with operations and technical teams
- Proactive, self‑driven and comfortable working in a team‑based environment
- Proficient in standard engineering and reporting tools (e.g. Microsoft Office; process simulation software desirable)
- Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing and manufacturing processes
- Fluent English (verbal and written) is essential.
- Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
