About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create, organize, maintain, and reuse documentation assets using the team’s approved content repository and authoring tools
- Conduct task analysis (TA) and prepare annotated topic lists (ATL)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) across global regions to gather requirements and deliver project outcomes
- Develop reusable, structured technical content aligned with Xylem’s authoring guidelines
- Initiate translation requests and coordinate translation reviews
- Maintain reusable content and contribute to documentation standards, templates, and information architecture to improve content consistency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Aeronautical, Computer Science, or equivalent field)
- 3–6 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer (Senior level) in an international, English-language environment
- Proven expertise in developing reusable technical documentation using structured or unstructured authoring approaches
- Experience with DITA XML and single-sourcing practices is an advantage but not required
- Basic experience creating technical illustrations in vector or raster formats
- Experience documenting software, hardware, or custom-engineered solutions, with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies
