About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create, organize, maintain, and reuse documentation assets
- Conduct task analysis and prepare annotated topic lists
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts across global regions
- Develop reusable, structured technical content aligned with Xylem’s authoring guidelines
- Produce and maintain illustrations, graphics, and photo-realistic renderings
- Ensure completion of the review cycle and software-assisted checks for grammar, style, and terminology
- Communicate release updates to stakeholders
- Maintain reusable content and contribute to documentation standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Aeronautical, Computer Science, or equivalent field)
- 3–6 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer (Senior level) in an international, English-language environment
- Proven expertise in developing reusable technical documentation using structured or unstructured authoring approaches
- Basic experience creating technical illustrations in vector or raster formats
- Experience documenting software, hardware, or custom-engineered solutions
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE) and style guides such as the Microsoft or Chicago Manual of Style.
- Understanding of DDLC, SDLC, and Agile workflows.
- Knowledge of single sourcing, metadata management, and conditional profiling.
