About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently manage complex tenders and prepare technical and commercial proposals
  • Estimate projects in the areas of water transport, pipeline and plant construction
  • Analyze, evaluate and review tender documents and prepare bills of quantities/scope of work
  • Prepare and submit complete bid documentation on schedule
  • Develop technical alternatives and cost-effective special proposals/value engineering options
  • Prepare budgets, cost estimates and robust pricing structures
  • Solicit, evaluate and negotiate subcontractor offers in close coordination with project management
  • Prepare for and participate in award and contract negotiations
  • Advise engineering firms, contractors and end clients on technical and commercial matters
  • Coordinate closely with internal specialist departments to ensure optimal project costing
  • Support project handovers and ensure a smooth transition into the implementation phase
  • Provide on-site project support as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in engineering (e.g., Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering) or equivalent qualification
  • Several years of experience in bid preparation, estimating or tendering for infrastructure or plant construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of water transport (e.g., pumps, piping systems)
  • Experience in civil works, plant construction or pipeline construction
  • Confident handling of tenders, bills of quantities and technical specifications
  • Experience working with engineering consultancies, contractors and end clients
  • Strong understanding of technical and commercial interrelations and pronounced cost awareness
  • Business-fluent German and good English skills
  • Structured, analytical and independent working style
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident presence in customer-facing situations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, set priorities and meet deadlines reliably
  • Solution-oriented thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • High level of initiative and a strong team spirit
