About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for supporting the configuration, troubleshooting, repair and deployment of proprietary technologies into water mains and sewer trunk mains
  • Work to maintain a safe work environment for self and others
  • Assist Senior Technicians with technical planning and coordination of field activities
  • Directly interface with customers and potentially work at multiple sites with multiple technologies
  • Apply appropriate procedures and processes with minimal direction
  • Operate tools and technology onsite under supervision of qualified technicians
  • Prepare basic documentation, tools and equipment for mobilization to project sites
  • Identify safety hazards and apply safe working practices
  • Participate and may lead onsite safety and planning meetings
  • Identify and troubleshoot simple technical issues with support
  • Delegate basic/repeatable tasks to entry-level technicians
  • Focus on continuous improvement by promoting quality, efficacy, and safety
  • Complete daily timesheets and expense reports as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Up to 5 years of previous field experience with infrastructure or general construction projects
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Clean driving record
  • Mechanically inclined and good with hand tools
  • Previous experience with water utilities or municipalities a plus
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and/or maps and can translate to the field
  • Proven ability to complete assigned work in a timely manner with quality results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Availability to work overtime, weekends and holidays when needed
  • Exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views.
