About the role
- Develop technical and commercial development of Xylem’s water treatment solutions with focus on aeration, blowers and mixing in biological processes
- Collaborate closely with Sales to promote, size and support technical solutions related to aeration, blowers, mixers, pumps, valves and actuators
- Prepare complete and accurate technical and commercial proposals and technical offer documents
- Actively develop new business opportunities through prospecting and qualification of leads throughout Europe and Emerging markets
- Provide technical and application consultancy to the sales team for primary and secondary water treatment and advanced filtration technologies
- Analyze and manage the sales funnel, qualifying opportunities and supporting offer development
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote Xylem solutions and market positioning
- Identify strategic growth opportunities and collaborate with management on action plans for key vertical markets
- Use technical selection and sizing software to define and configure technical-commercial proposals
- Review client specifications, study tender documents and prepare proposal/bid documents; correspondence with EPC/Consultant/End user
- Preparation of costing sheets and cost optimization
- Facilitate technical alignment with European and Emerging Markets Centres of Excellence and manufacturing facilities
- Lead or participate in kick-off meetings to ensure information flow toward Project Management team
- Continuously develop and update technical knowledge and create technical materials and presentations
- Participate in industry events as speaker and support brand positioning with Marketing
- Coordinate with Product Managers for product innovation, market feedback and forecast alignment
- Ensure compliance with Xylem internal procedures related to profitability, pricing and offer management
- Participate in local and regional Corporate Social Responsibility (Watermark) activities
- Undertake other duties as necessary and highlight deviations/ambiguities among tender, proposal and standards
Requirements
- Batchelors/Master's Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering discipline (Environmental Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in design and process aspects related to environmental/sanitary/wastewater engineering
- Masters degree in environmental engineering (preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of water and wastewater system design
- Indepth knowledge of European practices/standards, WEF/Regional Manuals, relevant codes and standards
- In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, particularly wastewater treatment
- Strong understanding of biological secondary treatment technologies
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- Skilled in cost estimation and technical documentation
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Financial acumen and sales process understanding
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Knowledge about BIOWIN Modeling (good to have)
- Innovative thinking, adaptive learning, structured problem solving, continuous improvement mindset, self motivated
- Ready to travel at customer places within and outside India; ready to travel abroad for customer meet or for training
- Candidate must be ready to locate to Pune location if from other part of India
- Should have strong and consistence carrier performance record
