About the role
- Provide Applications Engineering support to channel partners, distributors and end users
- Provide optimal design selections based on customer requirements
- Estimate project costing and negotiate lead times
- Collaborate with purchasing team and other stakeholders to obtain costing for components as required
- Support maintenance of CRM funnel to ensure opportunity visibility by field sales team
- Develop technical depth and understanding of Xylem products and applications
- Conduct Project Engineering activities during submittal development and order fulfillment
- Collaborate with other technical and engineering groups to provide the required customer solution
- Proactively anticipate and mitigate risk
- Provide timely responses to inquiries
- Meet or exceed established SLA and required metrics
- Support timely order entry, deliverables and order status
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
- One to Five years+ related experience with rotating equipment preferred
- Candidates who possess < 2 years of relevant experience will be considered Associate Application Engineers
- Knowledge of pump hydraulics, mechanics and construction
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools
- Salesforce and Pump selection software experience is a plus
- Ability to work with ambiguity, manage multiple projects at once, and review technical documents and drawings
- Ability to be self-managing and self-leading
