About the role
- The Channel Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing strategic accounts, developing and implementing sales strategies, and achieving sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key clients, and provide excellent aftersales service to retain customers.
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Generate new leads and prospects.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Conduct sales meetings and presentations.
- Negotiate and close deals.
- Meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports.
- Identify and capitalize on market trends and opportunities.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts.
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any client concerns or issues.
- Identify and pursue upselling and cross selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of products/services to clients.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for assigned territory.
- Identify and prioritize key accounts and prospects in territory.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities in territory.
- Plan and manage travel to visit clients and prospects within territory.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products and services.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments.
- Effectively communicate product features and benefits to clients.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for product improvements.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and client interactions.
- Submit necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
- Manage and track expenses related to sales activities.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field with at least 3 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- 3+ years’ sales or sales related experience (Filter press, water treatment preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of consultative/value-based selling.
- Knowledge of water treatment preferred.
- Previous experience in the use of CRM’s is required.
- Proficiency in ERP System.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work with distributors and visit end user locations.
- Travel percentage up to 30% (overnight travel).
