About the role
- Design and implement event-driven, serverless workflows on AWS (Lambda-first approach)
- Integrate with acquiring and banking rails, external payment providers, and internal systems
- Optimise our stack for lower cost, lower latency, higher stability, and faster releases
- Reduce technical debt while improving reliability, observability, and security
- Contribute across the full stack: Node.js/TypeScript, Lambdas, DynamoDB, Aurora, JS/TS frontends
- Lead end-to-end execution: architecture → implementation → code reviews → release → monitoring → iteration
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver high-impact solutions
- Mentor the team, support clear engineering standards, and drive systematic quality improvements
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Lead Engineer (or similar high-ownership role)
- Strong across backend and frontend — confident designing and shipping complex systems
- Deep, production-grade AWS serverless experience and a clear system design mindset
- Ability to use AI tools to speed up development and reduce routine work
- Comfortable in an English-speaking environment
- Nice to have: Go experience — or willingness to adopt it as parts of the platform evolve
