About the role

  • Build & Execute
  • Design, implement, and own our new event-driven data architecture on AWS
  • Get your hands dirty: write code, build pipelines, optimize queries
  • Implement and manage a modern data stack that scales with our growth
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance, quality, and observability practices
  • Design systems with compliance baked in (PCI-DSS, GDPR)
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to unlock the value of our data
  • Enable advanced analytics, real-time dashboards, and machine learning capabilities
  • Lead a small team, starting with mentoring our Data Analyst and growing the team as we scale
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Help your team members grow into strong data engineers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture
  • Proven track record of designing and building scalable, production-grade data systems in a fintech or high-volume transactional environment
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with the AWS data ecosystem, including Aurora, Redshift, S3, Lambda
  • Live and breathe event-driven architecture with practical experience (Kafka, event streaming)
  • Master of the modern data stack
  • Strong understanding of financial data and regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR)
  • Ability to mentor a team and make pragmatic technical decisions
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
