About the role
- Design and refine UI components, patterns, and foundations (color, typography, spacing, layout) within Xometry’s design system
- Translate product and platform needs into scalable, reusable system solutions
- Partner closely with Design Systems Engineering to ensure components are feasible, well-documented, and production-ready
- Support product designers by helping them use the system effectively and consistently
- Create and maintain clear documentation, usage guidelines, and examples in Figma and supporting tools
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from the Design Systems Lead
- Help identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement within the system
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience, with some experience contributing to or working within a design system
- Strong visual, interaction, and UI design skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience designing component-based systems in Figma
- Ability to think in terms of patterns, scalability, and reuse
- Comfort collaborating closely with engineers and incorporating technical constraints
- Clear communication skills and openness to feedback.
