About the role
- Prepare and post recurring and ad hoc journal entries and accruals, ensuring accuracy and documentation
- Own and maintain assigned balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances
- Lead assigned responsibilities during monthly close including ledger updates, schedules, and variance analysis
- Analyze account activity and trends to flag irregularities and support variance explanations
- Maintain audit trails and support internal and external audit requests
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain documentation and clarify variances
- Recommend and support process improvements and automation of expense-related workflows
- Mentor, train, and coach staff accountants and review their reconciliations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate GL or close-cycle environment
- Strong foundation in accounting principles with demonstrated critical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to evaluate accounting issues beyond surface-level data and apply sound judgment in resolving discrepancies
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
- Proven ability to manage recurring tasks and deadlines within a structured close calendar
- Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently while seeking clarity when needed
- Comfortable adapting to evolving processes, changing priorities, and growing responsibilities over time
- Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire (I-9 compliance)
