About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities, including the monthly close processes
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants and support staff, while providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Collaborate closely with the finance team to align budgets, streamline financial processes, and support strategic growth initiatives
  • Will lead tax and audit workstream
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and propose solutions for improvement
  • Implement best practices across our businesses in the U.S. and Europe
  • Ensure compliance with US and European accounting principles (GAAP and IFRS) and local regulations
  • Stay updated on changes to statutory reporting and accounting standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA designation is desirable but not required
  • Minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP
  • A working knowledge of IFRS is also desirable but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors and discrepancies
  • Good people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks or others) and Microsoft Excel is a plus
