About the role

Join an innovative team and help support the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in revolutionizing how applications operate in the cloud, driving impactful modernization efforts while leveraging advanced DevOps tools and practices. As an AWS DevOps Solutions Engineer, you will be instrumental in migrating traditional on-premise applications into a modern, scalable, and containerized AWS environment. You will create and implement Infrastructure as code (IaC), streamline CI/CD pipelines, and ensure applications are deployed efficiently and reliably. Working closely with the Elevation team, you will help shape a cloud platform that is automated, resilient, and fully prepared to meet the evolving demands of the organization. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer science, Software engineering, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience Skilled in building applications using Python or JavaScript Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in AWS, leveraging services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS) for reliable, secure, and scalable cloud solutions Solid experience in using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible) to provision, configure, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure efficiently Experienced in using GitHub or GitLab to manage source code and implement version control, while designing, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to streamline application development and deployment Adept at building, running, and orchestrating containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure consistency, scalability, and high availability
