Background Investigator – Top Secret
Xcelerate SolutionsBackground Investigator conducting investigations for federal government's national security. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation and interviewing candidates for suitability.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review completed background interview documentation checking for inconsistencies, errors, omissions, falsifications and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completion before beginning initial candidate interview
- Conduct background investigations by interviewing employers, co-workers, neighbors, law enforcement officials, military personnel, members of the candidate’s family and personal references
- Prepare detailed and complete interview statements for each person being interviewed in order to allow a reviewer to draw reasonable and logical conclusions about the prospective candidates
- Prepare documentation for inclusion into a results of investigation package organizing all investigative material in accordance with established procedures
- Prepares detailed summary of adverse information based upon objective analysis and evaluation of candidate’s background, and interviewee statements, as measured against requirement standards as set forth by the FIS
- Ability to conduct interviews remotely and/or in-person and be able to travel up to 50% of the time
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Top-Secret clearance
- Open to completing an approved NTS Background Investigator course, if this requirement hasn't already been met
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Ability to conduct interviews virtually at home
- Candidates with current DHS credentials in hand will be prioritized
