About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, maintain, and improve engineering standards, procedures, specifications, and technical guidance for safe, reliable, and compliant natural gas facility operations
  • Evaluate technical requirements, industry standards, regulations, materials, equipment, technologies, and work practices for application to company operations
  • Identify risks and improvement opportunities from event findings, investigations, operating experience, and emerging industry trends
  • Develop standards, procedures, specifications, and other controls to improve safety, reliability, and compliance
  • Work with Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Training, and other stakeholders to support risk-informed decisions and consistent implementation of company standards
  • Lead or support technical projects, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical support for Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, and Regulatory activities
  • Support technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards
  • Provide field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, and inspections under supervision
  • Coordinate or lead project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning
  • Support bid and proposal evaluations through analysis and calculations
  • Exchange technical information with internal organizations and external customers/vendors
  • Coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, and others, and mentor less experienced engineers
  • Perform budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management for engineering projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
  • Entry level: 0+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Staff level: 2+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Senior level: 5+ years with EIT/FE, or 7+ years without EIT/FE
  • Principal level: 9+ years with PE registration, or 15+ years without PE
  • Ability to demonstrate the technical skills and core competencies established for the applicable engineering level
  • EIT/FE preferred for entry level and strongly preferred for staff level
  • EIT/FE required for senior level under the applicable experience path
  • PE registration may be required depending on business need for senior level
  • PE registration required for principal level under the applicable experience path
  • Experience interpreting and applying technical, regulatory, industry, or company requirements
  • Experience developing, implementing, maintaining, or improving standards, procedures, specifications, technical guidance, or similar governance documents
  • Experience evaluating technical issues, risks, materials, equipment, technologies, or work practices and developing recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate across organizations and influence technical decisions involving multiple stakeholder groups
