About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to engineering assignments of limited scope
  • Support development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards
  • Utilize and assist with developing procedures
  • Provide technical support for Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, Regulatory, and related project activities
  • Provide field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, and inspections under supervision
  • Coordinate or lead projects and project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning
  • Support bid and evaluation processes through basic analysis and calculations
  • Communicate with other business areas, customers, and vendors regarding technical evaluations and proposals
  • Coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, and others; provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
  • Perform budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management in support of engineering projects
  • Continuously develop technical skills and competencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum; mechanical engineering preferred
  • Entry: 0+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Staff: 2+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Senior: 5+ years with EIT/FE required, or 7+ years without EIT/FE
  • Principal: 9+ years with PE registration required, or 15+ years without PE
  • Ability to demonstrate level-specific technical skills and core competencies
  • Preferred EIT/FE for entry level; strongly preferred for staff level
  • Preferred PE registration may be required depending on business need for senior level
  • Preferred project engineering or management experience
  • Preferred exposure or experience with heavy industry
