About the role
- Provide technical leadership in developing and applying advanced distribution system models
- Support integrated planning, reliability, and operational decision-making
- Build and maintain detailed distribution models
- Perform power flow, fault, contingency, and hosting capacity analyses
- Assess system performance under evolving load growth, DER adoption, electrification, and policy-driven scenarios
- Collaborate closely with distribution planning, DER integration, and operations teams
- Drive continuous improvement in modeling tools, processes, and data quality
- Provide subject-matter expertise to support regulatory filings, stakeholder engagement, and data requests
Requirements
- Required bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum, electrical engineering degree preferred
- 0+ years relevant engineering experience
- Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level established & documented by the organization.
- EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) preferred for Staff Engineer Level
- 2+ years relevant engineering experience for Staff Engineer Level
- Demonstrated broad knowledge & proficiency in specialty area, knowledge of related specialties, & general knowledge of other related disciplines for Staff Engineer Level
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited for Senior Engineer Level
- 5+ years relevant engineering experience with EIT/FE required; 7+ years relevant engineering experience without EIT/FE for Senior Engineer Level
- Preferred PE (Professional Engineer) registration may be required depending on business need.
