Key responsibilities & impact

Guiding design and specification of tanks, pressure vessels and related components
Performing design calculations and selecting tanks and pressure vessels
Providing expert opinions on design, application, selection and maintenance strategy
Directing planning of analyses for tank and pressure vessel components
Supervising performance of computations for structural, thermal, hydraulic calculations
Developing engineering changes in accordance with approved procedures
Composing design documentation, technical reports, calculations, and drawings
Overseeing the review of procured items and associated documentation for acceptance
Supporting the safety culture and ensuring integration of quality into processes
Mentoring junior team members and setting technical direction

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years of relevant experience for Level V
20+ years of relevant experience for Level VI
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited university
Experience with mechanical process and/or commercial power generation equipment design
Designing and specifying pressure vessels and tanks based on system needs
Experience with authoring and/or maintaining company design standards and guides
Knowledge of best practices for system requirements management and verification
Comprehensive knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and other relevant codes
Expert knowledge of pressure vessel design principles and structural mechanics
