About the role
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the commissioning process for all systems and equipment within a project
- Develop and oversee the full scope commissioning program for a High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor technology or Fuel Manufacturing Facility
- Develop an Initial Test Plan (ITP), including pre-operational and startup procedures, processes and guidelines
- Lead and manage the full commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning to plant turnover, ensuring alignment with project milestones and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to ensure design packages are commissioning-ready and reflect operational functionality
- Interface with construction planning to coordinate construction completion and system readiness for turnover
- Develop and maintain the commissioning schedule and integrate it with the overall project schedule
- Identify staffing needs for commissioning, lead recruiting, onboarding, and training of site commissioning personnel
- Serve as the primary liaison between the commissioning team, construction, design engineering, and the owner's team
- Manage the system turnover process, including documentation, testing verification, and final acceptance by the owner
- Hire, train, and manage staff who support the commissioning activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Typically, ten years of experience in commissioning and testing of industrial facilities
- Strong knowledge of system testing, startup protocols, and regulatory compliance standards
- Experience developing test plans and procedures, and leading system walkdowns and readiness reviews
- Experience in planning and executing large-scale commissioning programs
- Ability to hire, train, and manage staff for commissioning activities
