About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own overall sales performance and execution within the state, including revenue growth, market share, and profitability
- Develop and lead strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives and evolving market conditions
- Drive distribution, in-store presence, and customer experience
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Establish expectations, performance standards, and development plans
- Maintain a strong field presence, spending 60–80% of time in market
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, partners, and stakeholders
- Oversee account strategy and execution for long-term growth and brand positioning
- Serve as senior point of contact for critical customer needs and opportunities
- Partner with Distribution, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams
- Support planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
- Ensure adherence to company standards, processes, and regulatory requirements
- Use data and market insights to inform decisions and communicate performance to leadership
- Identify opportunities, risks, and market trends and translate them into actionable strategies
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities and strategic initiatives as the business evolves
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of direct sales, sales operations, or related experience, including CPG and wholesaler experience
- Progressive sales experience or multi-state/regional leadership preferred
- Strong understanding of B2B sales, distributor models, and regulated markets; cannabis or CPG strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop talent, improve execution, and drive results across diverse markets
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving organization with significant travel
- Experience working with a strong sense of urgency in a team environment or independently
- Ability to lead peers and communicate effectively across teams
- Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally and discreetly
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and work management systems such as Slack, Jira, or similar platforms
- Ability to travel occasionally between company buildings or work sites
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, where permitted by law
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses, permits, certifications, or registrations required by applicable laws and regulations
- ServSafe Certification or Food Handler's Card preferred, where applicable
- Compliance with company safety, sanitation, quality, and food safety policies
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
