About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serves as a Simulation Specialists in the Health Sciences Center simulation center (STEPS) by programming, testing and running scenarios with faculty instructors
- Provides faculty with instructional tools and technical support to carry out simulation sessions
- Instructs students utilizing simulation modalities
- Designs innovative ideas to improve the technology and development of the Center
- Collaborates with management and faculty in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of new courses, scenarios, and simulation tools
- Plans, coordinates, teaches and evaluates varied educational courses
- Conducts or assists in conducting debriefing sessions
- Writes or assists in writing educational objectives for new programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field (RN, Paramedic, etc.)
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting, pre-hospital or hospital
- Experience with course instruction and/or course coordination in educational disciplines such as BLS, ACLS, ATLS® or NDLS
- Knowledge of patient simulation services and instructional technologies
- Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology and clinical applications
- Knowledge of principles and methods of adult education.
- Computer proficiency in PC-based software applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and web design
- BLS Instructor Certification (Required to teach and coordinate classes)
- ACLS Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain (Required to teach and coordinate classes)
- PALS Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain (Required to teach and coordinate classes)
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) within 2 years of hire (Supervisor preference)
