About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serves as a Simulation Specialists in the Health Sciences Center simulation center (STEPS) by programming, testing and running scenarios with faculty instructors
Provides faculty with instructional tools and technical support to carry out simulation sessions
Instructs students utilizing simulation modalities
Designs innovative ideas to improve the technology and development of the Center
Collaborates with management and faculty in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of new courses, scenarios, and simulation tools
Plans, coordinates, teaches and evaluates varied educational courses
Conducts or assists in conducting debriefing sessions
Writes or assists in writing educational objectives for new programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field (RN, Paramedic, etc.)
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting, pre-hospital or hospital
Experience with course instruction and/or course coordination in educational disciplines such as BLS, ACLS, ATLS® or NDLS
Knowledge of patient simulation services and instructional technologies
Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology and clinical applications
Knowledge of principles and methods of adult education.
Computer proficiency in PC-based software applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and web design
BLS Instructor Certification (Required to teach and coordinate classes)
ACLS Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain (Required to teach and coordinate classes)
PALS Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain (Required to teach and coordinate classes)
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) within 2 years of hire (Supervisor preference)
