About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of complex network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
- Diagnose and resolve advanced network issues, utilizing in-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Utilize advanced network monitoring tools to ensure network performance, reliability, and security.
- Lead network-related projects, such as network upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement advanced network security measures, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Plan and execute network changes, upgrades, and patches while minimizing disruption to users and services.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in a relevant field
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience involving:
- Configuration and installation of Routers, Switches, Unified Communications, Wireless Access Points, and Firewalls
- Experience in Internet TCP/IP protocols such as DHCP, DNS, SNMP, TELNET, FTP, WWW, SSH
- Design and implementation of complex and secure LANs/WANs
- Licenses/Certifications: Cisco (CCNP or higher), Juniper (JNCIS or higher), Palo Alto (PCNSA or higher), Fortigate certifications preferred.
