About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Director of Online Programs with implementing enrollment growth initiatives.
  • Support development of scalable lead-nurturing workflows.
  • Help evaluate enrollment funnel performance and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to planning infrastructure supporting future online program launches.
  • Assist with market-responsive recruitment strategies aligned with workforce demand.
  • Provide feedback from prospective student interactions to inform program development decisions.
  • Support cross-campus coordination with Graduate Admissions, WVU Online, and college leadership.
  • Serve as a primary recruiter for Statler College online academic programs.
  • Provide high-touch engagement with prospective students from inquiry through matriculation using phone, email, virtual meetings, and CRM-based communication workflows.
  • Support development and execution of recruitment plans aligned with enrollment targets for online graduate programs.
  • Assist in building recruitment pipelines for anticipated online undergraduate offerings.
  • Conduct individualized consultations with prospective students to evaluate program fit and readiness.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics and recommend strategy adjustments.
  • Support digital lead nurturing campaigns in collaboration with marketing partners.
  • Represent Statler College online programs at virtual recruitment events, employer partnerships, webinars, and professional conferences as appropriate.
  • Identify enrollment barriers and recommend improvements to admissions and onboarding workflows.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in CRMs (i.e., Slate, Banner) of recruitment activity and student engagement.
  • Represent Statler College in the monthly cross-college meeting of Online Program Contacts.
  • Provide transition advising support to newly admitted online students prior to first-term enrollment.
  • Assist students in understanding degree pathways, policies, timelines, and expectations specific to online engineering programs.
  • Monitor student engagement during early program progression to support retention.
  • Connect students with institutional resources, including tutoring, career services, technical support, and graduate student services.
  • Assist with interpreting curriculum pathways and progression milestones.
  • Support onboarding programming for new online students.
  • Maintain advising documentation consistent with university policies and FERPA requirements.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators and faculty to escalate student concerns when appropriate.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience involving professional work of an independent nature that demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to creatively solve problems.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a recruiting/advising role, sales, customer acquisition, and/or customer retention.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated positive, results-oriented attitude, including in times of uncertainty and change.
  • Superior ability to approach people and converse effectively regarding online education.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales/outcome-focused role.
  • Consultative recruitment communication style.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide adult and working-professional learners.
  • Comfortable in interpreting technical degree pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume prospect pipelines.
  • Experience supporting persistence in online learners.
  • Initiative in building new processes where infrastructure is emerging.
  • Ability to collaborate across decentralized academic units.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings or weekends as necessary.
