About the role
- Provide high-level support related to the collection, management, and reporting of patient clinical data.
- Support translational and basic science research by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant capture of clinical data.
- Gather, record, and maintain clinical and treatment-related information for internal reporting, quality assurance, and research use.
- Conduct record review, data abstraction, data quality checks, and support BioTRAC research and administrative objectives.
- Maintain individual research subject records by obtaining and organizing data from medical records, lab reports, treatment schedules, and other documentation.
- Prepare and provide de-identified clinical data extracts or summaries for investigators in accordance with approved protocols and policies.
- Participate in meetings and project planning related to BioTRAC research support activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, health informatics, or other related field
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in clinical research, data coordination, tissue banking, or medical record abstraction
- Skilled in retrospective medical record review and clinical data abstraction.
- Experience working with clinical databases or registry-style data systems preferred.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and data quality that is essential for accuracy in data handling.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnoses, and treatment modalities.
- Proficiency with basic data systems, databases, and office software such as, but not limited to, Epic, REDCap, Microsoft Office, EDC systems, and OnCore.
- Ability to communicate effectively with research staff and clinical partners.
