About the role
- Responsible for performing a wide range of professional accounting and finance functions
- Primarily involved with the financial planning and budgeting activities of the Health Sciences Center related to Operating and Personnel budgets
- Responsible for functions within the University-wide budget model
- Instrumental in the development and maintenance of Salary and Wage modeling, College level analytics, trend analysis, variance analysis, management reporting, forecasting, and monitoring
- Knowledgeable in the development and maintenance of tuition and fee revenue modeling and capital planning
- Key contact within the HSC Finance Organization and across the HSC EBOs
- Key member of a transformational Budgeting System team providing critical data and educating EBOs
- Includes duties relating to GL, Human Resources, and Payroll functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial operations, preferably in a health care or academic, student-centered environment
- Knowledge of accounting principles, analytical skills, strong communication skills, understanding of business practice standards, and professional judgement skills to operate in a dynamic environment
- In-depth knowledge of ORACLE Payroll Personnel and Financial Information System
- In-depth knowledge of entering, interpreting, and extracting data from ORACLE
- In-depth knowledge of Axiom Budget System
- In-depth knowledge of State, Research Corporation, and WVU Foundation policies and procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access
