About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, innovate, and implement solutions to improve systems and processes
Advocate for customers, understand business needs, and identify improvement and productivity opportunities
Assess analytical needs and determine appropriate courses of action
Manage relationships across project teams and facilitate optimal solutions
Maintain a thorough understanding of database structures and business intelligence tools
Serve as the first point of contact for data analytics and process improvement
Perform data analysis and create queries, programs, and automation
Validate that reported data is meaningful and accurate
Lead data requirements gathering for problem identification, resolution, and solution design
Provide analytical insights to drive strategic business decisions
Coordinate cross-functional project teams and provide project/task coordination services
Identify and document issues, barriers, and risks for management
Manage workload, deadlines, expectations, scope changes, and deliverables
Implement project changes according to change control policies and procedures
Communicate project nature, significance, and risk factors to all parties
Participate in post-implementation project reviews
Gather customer requirements and translate business needs into actionable solutions
Participate in training and professional development sessions
Support co-workers and contribute to positive team spirit and cooperative problem-solving

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or Hospital Administration, OR bachelor’s degree in the listed fields
4 years of data analytics experience may substitute for the required degree
EPIC official designation of “Proficient” required within the new hire probationary period
1 year of experience with relational database structures, including design, testing, troubleshooting, and/or training, for the master’s-degree pathway
1 year of experience in data analysis and/or healthcare planning for the master’s-degree pathway
1 year of experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports for the master’s-degree pathway
2 years of experience with relational database structures, including design, testing, troubleshooting, and/or training, for the bachelor’s-degree pathway
2 years of experience in data analysis and/or healthcare planning for the bachelor’s-degree pathway
2 years of experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports for the bachelor’s-degree pathway
Experience with SQL/Oracle and/or Business Objects
Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in their current position to qualify for promotion within IT
Ability to handle confidential information
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member
Ability to work with multidisciplinary groups and facilitate meetings
Reading and comprehension ability
