About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Basic Life Support and limited Advanced Life Support patient care consistent with protocols
- Conduct patient assessments and formulate treatment plans
- Administer medications and monitor patients during transport
- Maintain documentation of patient care and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Participate in training and quality improvement activities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- National Registry of EMTs Advanced Emergency Medical Technician registration (renewed every two years)
- West Virginia Office of EMS Advanced Emergency Medical Technician license (to be obtained within 30 days of hire, renewed every two years)
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire, renewed every four years)
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire, renewed every two years)
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire, renewed every two years)
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification (to be obtained within one month of hire, renewed every two years)
- Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or equivalent certification (to be obtained within one month of hire, renewed every two years)
- West Virginia Office of EMS Blood Endorsement (to be obtained within one year of hire, renewed annually)
- Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training (to be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Unencumbered ability to practice Emergency Medical Services within West Virginia and compliance with all regulations
- Background check that does not demonstrate a threat to public safety
- Minimum of two years of driving experience
