About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the department phlebotomy and/or specimen processing staff in support of the hospital's mission of patient care.
  • Schedule staff to ensure proper daily coverage.
  • Provide training and orientation of assigned staff.
  • Perform laboratory processing at current licensed level.
  • Make recommendations of positive changes for the department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring personnel and provide timely orientation of new staff.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
  • Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: WV: High Complexity Testing Personnel (HCTP) License issued by the WV Department of Health
  • Three (3) years of laboratory experience
  • Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) OR Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a nationally recognized agency
