About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The WSU ROAR Employment Services Coordinator leads the employment services pillar of the program through the development and implementation of individualized employment supports, employer partnerships, career development systems, and experiential learning opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities (ID).
  • This position coordinates career planning activities, supervises employment coaches and employment-related supports, develops and maintains inclusive workplace partnerships, and supports students in developing professional, self-advocacy, and workplace readiness skills.
  • The Employment Services Coordinator collaborates closely with students, families, employers, university departments, and community agencies to ensure students have meaningful opportunities for career exploration, skill development, and competitive integrated employment experiences aligned with individual goals identified through Person-Centered Planning.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience.
  • Experience leading or directing the work of others.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in employment, transition planning, or community-based services.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
