About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Debian-based Linux systems in production environments
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily in AWS
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK
  • Write and maintain Bash or Python scripts to automate routine operations and improve system reliability
  • Ensure system performance, availability, and security
  • Address incidents and resolve issues promptly
  • Configure and manage monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch
  • Support containerized environments and orchestration tools such as Docker, ECS, EKS, and Fargate
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams on CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • Maintain documentation and Git version control while following best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role
  • Proven experience managing Debian Linux distributions in production environments
  • Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK
  • Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch monitoring and logging tools
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools including EKS, Docker, ECS, and Fargate
  • Comfortable using Git and version control systems
  • Availability during standard US business hours: 9am-5pm EST or 8:30am-4:30pm EST
  • Preferred: experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
  • Preferred: familiarity with high availability and failover strategies in cloud environments
  • Preferred: exposure to HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance standards
  • Full professional proficiency in communication and documentation
