About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage, monitor, and maintain Debian-based Linux systems in production environments
Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily in AWS
Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK
Write and maintain Bash or Python scripts to automate routine operations and improve system reliability
Ensure system performance, availability, and security
Address incidents and resolve issues promptly
Configure and manage monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch
Support containerized environments and orchestration tools such as Docker, ECS, EKS, and Fargate
Collaborate with engineering and development teams on CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Maintain documentation and Git version control while following best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role
Proven experience managing Debian Linux distributions in production environments
Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch
Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK
Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch monitoring and logging tools
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools including EKS, Docker, ECS, and Fargate
Comfortable using Git and version control systems
Availability during standard US business hours: 9am-5pm EST or 8:30am-4:30pm EST
Preferred: experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
Preferred: familiarity with high availability and failover strategies in cloud environments
Preferred: exposure to HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance standards
Full professional proficiency in communication and documentation
