About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, monitor, and maintain Debian-based Linux systems in production environments
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily in AWS
- Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK
- Write and maintain Bash or Python scripts to automate routine operations and improve system reliability
- Ensure system performance, availability, and security
- Address incidents and resolve issues promptly
- Configure and manage monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch
- Support containerized environments and orchestration tools such as Docker, ECS, EKS, and Fargate
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams on CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Maintain documentation and Git version control while following best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role
- Proven experience managing Debian Linux distributions in production environments
- Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
- Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch monitoring and logging tools
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools including EKS, Docker, ECS, and Fargate
- Comfortable using Git and version control systems
- Availability during standard US business hours: 9am-5pm EST or 8:30am-4:30pm EST
- Preferred: experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
- Preferred: familiarity with high availability and failover strategies in cloud environments
- Preferred: exposure to HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance standards
- Full professional proficiency in communication and documentation
