About the role
- Technical leadership of a distributed team of engineers to develop, mature, and release software systems engineering artifacts for next-generation driving stack.
- Responsible for overall technical development and sign off of software system requirements, software architecture, software FMEA, Functional Safety software technical requirements, and traceability.
- Review and assessment of test methods at all levels and ensure highest quality software system with continuous performance improvements.
- Drive development through close working relationships, define technical standards, and lead via direct review and influence while reporting to Director of Product Delivery.
- Member of Technical Guild to align and collaborate on cross-functional technical direction, ensure path to production, and work with perception, planning, and machine learning experts.
- Grow, mentor, and train engineering teams, create formal and informal training opportunities, and play key role in hiring and developing new talent.
- Apply automotive engineering practices for quality (e.g., DFMEA), support release, triage, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- 15 years of automotive experience leading teams, developing technologies, and launching programs at an Automotive OEM, Tier1, or Tier2.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Controls/Robotics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated professional experience in launching software systems to production, ideally in the AD/ADAS environment for the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable infrastructure.
- Experience with data science workflows, including data processing, model deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience with teams of at least 20 or more members.
- Willingness to travel to California and Japan (20%)
