About the role
- Research and identify media outlets, platforms, and channels to help reach target audiences.
- Assist the public relations team with planning, executing, and reporting on strategic communications projects.
- Support the development of media pitches and media lists to advance WWP’s media relations efforts; pitch media under supervision.
- Create content — such as articles, fact sheets, and talking points — about WWP programs and services for distribution through external and internal channels.
- Assist the public relations team in tracking and reporting WWP earned media coverage; contribute to regular and ad-hoc reports for department leadership.
- Prepare agendas, presentations, and other materials for meetings as needed.
- Support WWP teams in public awareness activities for special events, fundraisers, and key initiatives.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Coursework or hands-on experience in writing, editing, or media/communications projects.
- Participation in team-based and/or project-based assignments demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
