About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage warehouse operations and airport ramp operations
- Work with internal and external executive-level contract partners to ensure efficient handling of Express packages
- Facilitate daily cross-dock throughput of packages from aircraft to warehouse to trucks with minimal storage
- Lead the team according to structured processes and guidelines, prioritizing safety
- Move packages throughout the facility in this hands-on role
- Ensure customer satisfaction, safety, security, and quality exceed standards for the assigned shift
- Maintain and control operational requirements during the shift in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation
- Plan, organize, lead, and control staff
- Develop next-level leaders and managers in leadership and management skills
- Supervise staff to meet business needs and carrier Service Level Agreement performance standards
- Monitor and instruct Lead Agents and Warehouse Agents on safety rules and standards
- Participate in recruiting, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions
- Assist with employee relations and conflict resolution
- Prepare performance appraisals and provide input for counseling and terminations
- Maintain security under Airport Police, TSA, USCBP, and FAA regulations
- Challenge persons without airport ID badges in WFS warehouses or Airport Operational Areas
- Prepare operational reports, including weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports
- Complete injury and damage reports
- Authorize or ensure post-accident and post-injury testing
- Assist customer representatives with compliance reports and audits
- Maintain airport employment records and appointments, including badge appointments and USCBP interviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8–10 years of leadership and management experience within warehousing, logistics, or a related industry
- Leadership skills and ability to train and develop personnel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in operations, reporting, compliance, documentation, and performance metrics
- Ability to continually respond to and prioritize within a fluid work environment
- Ability to work across the 24/7 schedule based on business needs
- Airline, logistics, or transportation experience preferred
- Interpersonal skills, including customer service and dependability
- Ability to lift and carry freight weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, walk, and identify objects
- Proficient use of software and computer programs, including MS Office
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and move long distances across facilities
- Compliance with airport security requirements and TSA, USCBP, FAA, and Airport Police regulations
