Systems Engineer
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS)Systems Engineer supporting cargo operations for Worldwide Flight Services. Responsible for maintenance and operation of PLCs, servers, and software applications in Newark, NJ.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the maintenance and continued operation of the PLCs, servers, and software applications including inspection, troubleshooting and repair
- Completion of maintenance inspections and tasks including but not limited to; visual inspections, cleaning, network testing, PLC testing, repair or component replacement, disassembly/reassembly of PLC cabinets
- Coordination with Inventory Specialist for procurement of replacement and spare parts
- BHS Server maintenance including but not limited to planned preventative maintenance tasks, repair of server hardware, network or application software, disassembly/reassembly of server racks
- Execution of assigned preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance work orders as assigned and in accordance with OEM recommendations, SOPs, and safety regulations
- Proper and complete usage of Maximo mobile platform for execution of maintenance activities including the required electronic documentation of the progress/completion of assigned tasks and inclusion of supporting information
- Liaison to the OEM software providers to coordinate additional technical support when needed.
- Communication with the control room to report technical status and errors with Components.
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Background check and drug screen required
- Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
- Electrical training and experience in an industrial environment or minimum 1 year experience as maintenance mechanic
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology in a related field (preferred) or associate degree from a 4-year college or equivalent technical school
- 3+ years of controls engineering design/programming experience required
- Functional knowledge in various PLC ladder logic and HMI programming systems
- Prior experience in the conveyor, material handling or related industries preferred.
