Lead the migration of SQL Server and PostgreSQL workloads to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
Design, deploy, and support Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offerings in Azure.
Analyze and consolidate database instances to optimize performance, licensing, and cost.
Implement Azure-native backup, replication, disaster recovery, and security configurations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of database engineering or DBA experience, or equivalent experience or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of database engineering or DBA experience, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Azure SQL or similar cloud database platforms.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instances, and related Azure data services.
Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and database consolidation strategies.
Experience in migrating legacy Unix/Linux-based databases to modern cloud environments.
Demonstrated experience with database migration projects from on-premise to cloud.
Familiarity with Azure automation, monitoring, and security tools.
Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams in a global environment.
Experience with regulated data environments (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus.
Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP-300) are highly desirable.
Willingness to participate in after-hours support and system maintenance.
