About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop long-term relationships with prospective planned giving donors primarily through voice-to-voice interaction, and occasional face-to-face donor development.
  • Initiate, develop and grow fundraising with loyal donors whose giving capacity ranges from $10,000 and up.
  • Qualify higher level leads and develop donor relationships for referrals to Planned Giving Directors.
  • Steward World Vision Legacy Society donors to increase retention levels.
  • Coach Planned Giving Officers in the ability to cultivate and retain pipeline of planned gifts.
  • Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies.
  • Responsible for building relationships and cultivating loyal donors to secure an annual fundraising goal of at least $1,500,000 in planned giving commitments.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of planned giving vehicles, including wills, living trusts, and charitable gift annuities.
  • Engage with high value leads and donors primarily via voice-to-voice interactions to cultivate planned gifts.
  • Steward World Vision Legacy Society donors by regular communications (such as via the phone, face to face, personal written messages) to increase retention of constituencies.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of constituent CRM.
  • Support other Planned Giving Officers on how to engage donors and cultivate relationships that lead to planned gifts for World Vision US through telephone interaction.
  • Discern when complex donor inquiries should be referred to other team members and facilitate "warm handoffs" as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two-year degree or equivalent work experience (four years). Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Requires five years of work experience, including a minimum of three years of successful sales/fundraising experience working in a phone or face-to-face sales/fundraising environment with proven ability to take prospects through sales cycle to close large gifts.
  • Requires proven ability to understand and articulate financial tools and concepts.
  • Completion of at least one course in planned giving strongly desired.
